FAQs

Will you ever write a book for Poppy from Courting Claudia?
I don't have any current plans to give Poppy her happy ending, but I certainly have thought about it. She resonated with so many of my readers that even though Courting Claudia was release in 2005, I still receive questions about Poppy today. If I ever do decide to write her story, I'll post the information on here as soon as possible.

Will we ever get a conclusion to the Ladies' Amateur Sleuth Society series and find out who the Jack of Hearts is?
The Ladies' Amateur Sleuth Society series is sadly incomplete for the time being, but I have every intention of finishing it up and writing Charlotte's book. As for the identify of the Jack of Hearts, I won't tell you, but I will say that my readers are smart and so many of them have figured it out.

Which of your books are connected and do I have to read them in order?
There are currently three books in the Ladies' Amateur Sleuth Society series. They do not HAVE to be read in order, but here they are in order of publication: A Study in Scandal, Deliciously Wicked, and Tempted at Every Turn

When is your next release?
I'll be starting a new series (also moving to a new publisher!) in the fall of 2009. More details are soon to come.

Do you design your own covers?
Nope. Sometime before publication I have a conversation with my editor called a "cover conference" where we discuss possible ideas for the cover. Sometimes my ideas are used and others I have to defer to the expertise of my publisher – after all they're in the business of selling books and know more than I about packaging. The same holds true for the titles, I submit possible titles, but often we have to go back to the drawing board.

Where do you get your ideas?
Ideas can hit out of nowhere, a line from a song, an image, something I've been interested in learning about, etc. Sometimes though ideas are a bit more difficult to capture and I'll have to "manufacture" one. Other books I've had a small idea about a certain character, like a heroine who is fascinated by Sherlock Holmes and thus A Study in Scandal was born.
