I know, I know, I missed a few months of newsletters and I sincerely apologize. Life gets so busy sometimes. Summer is definitely the time for travel and we'll be doing plenty of it around my house this year. This month we'll head up to Ohio to visit with my in-laws. We're going to take a side jaunt up to Niagara Falls, which I've never seen. I'm excited to see it, to be sure, but with my fear of both water and heights, I'm sure I'll be a basket-case. I'll be sure to take lots of pictures though. In mid-July I'll be going to RWA's Annual Conference in Dallas, TX, so if you live in those parts, stop by the literacy signing for, oh…450+ of your favorite authors' signatures. In early August I'll be back in Texas to visit my family, but I've scheduled some booksignings for while I'm there. And I have a booksigning in Kentucky on August 11th. Check out my appearances section for more details.
I have lots of updates this month including the first excerpt from Tempted At Every Turn. I haven't received any reviews just yet, but as soon as I do, I'll post them. I'm so excited about the contest this month. I'm giving away not one but two advanced reading copies of Tempted At Every Turn. I've joined forces with fellow Jaunty Quill, Anne Mallory and we've swapped ARCs (that's right, I have a copy of What Isabella Desires in my hot, little hands). So be sure to enter the contest on both of our websites for a double chance to win.
Both A Study in Scandal and Deliciously Wicked sold to a publisher in Spain. I really hope I get copies of these foreign translations, and when I do I'll put the covers up. But right now it's just nice to be international. My dad keeps calling me Joan Wilder. For those of you who've seen Romancing the Stone will get that, for those who haven't, shame on you, rent it tonight. Trust me, you'll love it.
I've also launched a myspace page, so if you're on there, come be my friend. Try to stay cool this summer. Read some great books and enjoy the sunshine.
Until next month, happy reading.

According to Punxsutawney Phil spring should be just around the corner. Not sure how much stock we should put in a rodent though, and frankly it's been really cold lately. Perfect weather for snuggling in your favorite chair with a cup of hot cocoa and a good book. Reading time is more difficult when you're a writer, but I've had the perfect opportunity lately. I've been judging RITA books for RWA and it's been so nice to enjoy some good books.
The biggest news this month is that I received the cover for Tempted At Every Turn. Those of you on my newsletter, received a sneak-peek of this beautiful cover last month and I received so many wonderful emails about it. But now all of you can enjoy as it has been placed on the Coming Soon page. Let me know what you think.
I also received word that my three previous books have been published by a Brazilian publisher and translated into Portuguese. Courting Claudia is the only one available right now so be sure to check that page for a glimpse of my first foreign cover! It's tiny, but you can still make out the image.
There's a contest this month so be sure to enter. The coverflats I've received from the other authors are really stunning, you won't want to miss the opportunity to have them for yourself.
Also it's my second anniversary this month and married life is just…well, wonderful. He makes it very easy to create loving heroes.
Happy March and happy reading.

It's February, which you know means Valentine's Day, the month of love. As a romance author, this could be our national holiday, celebrating passion and love and commitment and all those wonderful things you find tucked within the pages of your favorite novels. So this month celebrate with me. Grab a novel of your choice, a personal sized box of chocolates, a nice cup of hot tea and snuggle down and fall in love.
Sometime this month, I should get the cover for Tempted at Every Turn, and I simply can't wait to see what Avon has put together. If they went with the concept, then I'm sure it will be so beautiful. I'll put it on the website as soon as I get it. I have added the back cover blurb just to tease you. August seems so far away, but it will be here before we know it.
I'm currently working on Charlotte's book, trying to put the story together and I think it's shaping up nicely. I'll keep you posted as details come available to me.
The Jaunty Quills will be doing some celebrating this month, so be sure to check the blog regularly for contests as well as some great guest bloggers. Again, there will be no contest on my site this month, but I do have some coming up, I promise. I've also added another new writing article this month. I'm still taking suggestions/requests for writing topics for me to address – so if you have any or any questions, send them my way.
Happy Valentine's Day and happy reading.

Happy New Year!!!
Does anyone else feel like there should be another week between Christmas and New Year's? I just never feel like I have enough time to get ready for the New Year, when everything should be clean and shiny, the fridge stocked with healthy foods and all your annual goals written on your pretty new calendar. I always want to hit the ground running on January 1st, but I never have enough time to get everything done before then. I'm still recovering from decorating and traveling and baking. Next year I think I'll try getting my goals lined up in early December so that I'm ready.
It was a wonderful holiday season, but I'm sure glad to get back into a routine. And I'm very eager to begin my next book. It will be sad to write this final installment of my Lady Sleuths, but they all have worked so hard and poor Charlotte certainly deserves her happy ending. I'm so excited about Willow's story, Tempted at Every Turn, doesn't come out until August, but I really think you're going to love it. I hope to have the cover in the next few months, I love the concept and can't wait to see what they do with it.
For each of the books I've sold, I've put a corresponding charm on my writer's charm bracelet. Courting Claudia has a large, flowered hat, A Study in Scandal is represented by a smoking pipe and Deliciously Wicked, a box of chocolates. I'm still undecided on Tempted's charm. I'm leaning towards a camera, but I could also do a mask…and there are two small hints for you on what Willow is up to on her little adventure.
I've added a new writing article this month, as well as news of an on-line workshop later this year. Congratulations to the three winners from my December contest. I'm not running one this month, but do plan to give away some prizes in January, so be sure to check the Jaunty Quill's site daily because you never know when someone is giving away free stuff.
May your new year be filled with love, laughter and lots of good books!
